Vacancy for a Fitter

On a Temporary three month contract – Possibility of becoming Permanent

This person is required to work in the machine shop (plant and machine tool breakdowns, maintenance, repairs); to work in the Refurbishment shop (strip-downs of power station components, inspections, rebuilds); various fitting/assembly work; to work on new builds of Presses; to work on new builds of Tees White Gill thruster units in our works, and to carry out inspection, repair, refits etc. of existing units on vessels worldwide.

In order to carry out this role this person will require a current passport with at least 12 months until expiry; vaccinations/preventative medication may be required depending on areas of travel.

Full product training will be given and further training and development opportunities for the right person.The successful Applicant will be able to demonstrate strong hands-on skills.

As the machine shop includes hazardous areas, this person will need a good knowledge of safe working practices. They will also need to ensure their work complies with ISO 9001 and 14001 quality and environmental management systems.

Monday to Thursday: 08.00 to 12.00 : 12.30 to 16.30
Friday: 08.00 to 12.00 : 12.30 to 15.00 (or 06.00 to 13.00

Guide Salary : £480-530 per week depending on experience

33 days paid holiday including bank holidays.
